James Reid
James Reid serves as a Principal at Godspeed Capital, a private equity investment firm focused on organic and inorganic growth strategies for companies in the lower middle-market defense & government services, solutions, and technology markets. Mr. Reid is responsible for the evaluation, due diligence and execution of new investment opportunities and working closely with portfolio companies to implement key components of the Godspeed Playbook. Mr. Reid has over 10 years of relevant experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, and accounting services.
Prior to joining Godspeed Capital, Mr. Reid was a Director at KippsDeSanto & Co. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Capital One), where he advised on mergers and acquisitions in the aerospace, defense & government services markets. At KippsDeSanto, Mr. Reid interacted frequently with the Godspeed team across several M&A processes.
Prior to KippsDeSanto, Mr. Reid worked in the Strategy & Transactions group at EY, primarily advising clients on transactions across the government contracting community. Mr. Reid began his career in the Financial Services assurance practice at EY.
Mr. Reid currently serves on the Board of Directors of Stengel Hill Architecture, Crimson Phoenix, Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, and Special Aerospace Services.
Mr. Reid holds a Master of Accounting degree from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC-Chapel Hill, and a B.A. in Classics from UNC-Chapel Hill. Mr. Reid is a Certified Public Accountant.
